  • Allie Chisholm Smith - E-RYT 500, MES, Studio Owner, YTT Creator

Self-knowledge (understanding), leads to self-love. It is through this process that we are capable of finding wellness.

Throughout Allie’s two decades of teaching Yoga, doing Yoga Massage, Reiki and constant studies in Ayurveda, she has always encouraged people to find self-knowledge and power from within. Her teaching spans from Restorative as deep central nervous system calming, to vigorous explorations into fascial structure and ways of being.

She has been running transformative Yoga Teacher Training programs for well over a decade and readily admits that the study that this requires of her and the gift of witnessing so many students blossom, may be a favourite part of her job.

Allie earned a Master’s degree examining the ways in which our definition of power determines our ability to establish healthy relationships with self, others and the earth.

As with Ayurveda, she believes that as we study ourselves, we heal ourselves. As we heal ourselves, we heal the earth.

  • Ashley O'Rourke

Ashley’s fifteen-year relationship with yoga began when she studied at the Transformational Arts College in Toronto.

Pursuing holistic health and energy medicine is what led her to find yoga. It was through yoga that she discovered empowering ways to find more balance and harmony to support herself on a physical, mental and emotional level.

For her, yoga became a soft place to land in the midst of a chaotic world. Through breath work, meditation and asanas, she cultivated pathways back to herself with a clear heart and clear mind. Yoga spoke to her soul. She completed her 600hrs YTT program at Ahimsa here in Huntsville.

As a mother herself she understands the importance of teaching these values. Although Ashley mainly teaches gentle hatha, moderate vinyasa, yin and restorative classes she now extends her teaching not only to adults but to kids and pre-teens as well.

Providing a fun and creative way to practice the benefits of yoga. In her classes kids will learn important and soulful life skills.

  • Muskoka yoga instructor Emily

    Emily Phillippe

“It’s not about the pose. It’s about the peace.”

Emily is a born and raised Muskoka local. She loves the outdoors, being by the water and animals, especially her two dogs!

Emily has always loved being active, and fell in love with yoga from the first time she tried it. The calming effect and the deep body and mind connection were far more than a workout – a feeling she wanted to cultivate as often as possible.

Emily wants to create a safe place for all people to come and try yoga for themselves. A judgement-free zone for people to explore the body and mind. Her goal is to help her students find peace in a time of chaos and light in a time of darkness, even if it is just an hour during class, but knowing that these feelings can be accessed anytime off the mat.

  • Celina, Muskoka Yoga Instructor

    Celina Bussolaro

Before Celina found her current rhythm, she found herself controlled by the crests and troughs in the waves of life.

Mindfulness and tuning into the breath were grounding practices that shaped and changed her life; creating balance, inviting harmony, and sparking curiosity.

Celina’s journey continues today — engaging with the philosophies of yoga, finding joy in physical movement, cultivating a slow life, and turning inward with meditation.

With an energetic spirit, Celina loves facilitating group experiences and creating spaces in which people feel encouraged to be themselves. She believes life, like yoga, is a practice, and strives to live guided by love.

  • Dana Anderson

Dana has been practicing Qi Gong for 22 years. It became a passion for her in her early twenties and she immersed herself in practice while learning under the direction of a Shaolin Master.

She is also trained in Shaolin Kung Fu, ancient Chinese philosophy, and some aspects of Chinese medicine. She completed her instructor level in 2014 and has been instructing in the Muskoka area for some time. The most rewarding part of teaching for her is seeing her students enjoy the benefits and improve their quality of life.

  • Jaime Collins

Jaime spent her childhood dreaming and reading about the spiritual side of life.

As an adult, she spent her days as an elementary teacher focusing on improving the body, mind and soul of her students. This deep connection to spirit prompted an awakening and questioning of, why are we all here? What is our purpose?

As a Certified Yoga Teacher and Reiki III Practitioner, Jaime is pursuing the life she intends by helping others awaken to their true potential, their divinity. It is her mission to provide services that help individuals tap into their parasympathetic mode to relax deeply by creating a peaceful and tranquil environment for them to release and let go of stress.

She believes that a combination of Reiki, Asana (Vin/Yin, Restorative), Yogic Philosophy, Meditation, and breathwork guides us all on a transformative journey to self-discovery, inner peace and spiritual awakening.

When she isn’t journeying through the depths of her soul, Jaime is outdoors with her beloved family and beautiful friends, grounding herself in the present moment to live in joy.

Now, 25 years later, Melissa describes yoga as, “this comforting friend and mentor that I have gone back to time and time again, to help remind me of who I am and why I am here.”

Melissa’s greatest callings: Midwifery, Motherhood and Yoga have now all united and she feels blessed to have the opportunity to join the Yoga Collective and offer both Prenatal Yoga Classes and Baby and Me Yoga Classes in the community that she loves.
